28 x 20cm. Quarter leather hardcover in original paper-covered boards, xii + 105pp, with the paper-covered portfolio containing five fold-out sheets (63 x 51cm when unfolded). Both the portfolio and the book bear the bookplate of artisan bookbinder Frieda Gumn (wife of BAS Printers' Gordon Gumn). One of 85 copies issued by The Whittington Press quarter-bound in leather with five additional full sheets of pattern paper housed in the separate portfolio. Bound by Smith Settle. Showcases the artistic endpapers designed by Edward Bawden, Harry Carter, Claud Lovat Fraser, Elizabeth Friedlander, E.O. Hoppe, Margaret James, Thomas Lowinsky, Enid Marx, Paul Nash, Sarah Nechamkin, Eric Ravilious, Michael Rothenstein, Albert Rutherston, Graham Sutherland, Diana Wilbraham, Eric Ravilious, Tirzah Ravilious, Diana Wilbraham, and Althea Willoughby. This copy is hand-numbered as LXXXV [85 - the last of this edition]. Both spines a little sunned. Some wear to the spine edges of the portfolio.
