The former owner, sociobiologist E.O. Wilson, stamped his name ("Edward O. Wilson") on the outer fore edge. Written in the bottom margin of the title page, perhaps by Dr. Wilson's assistant Kathy Horton, is "Rec'd 12 Feb. 1982" (which happens to be Charles Darwin's birthday). Top of the dust jacket's front panel has a 5/16 inch vertical closed tear; tight, text clean. xvi, 222 p., illustrated. Interesting provenance [otob: 20a].
