2 parts (all published) in one. Folio. Original pictorial wrappers, bound in modern burgundy half morocco over red cloth lettered in gilt. A scarce work on the Liverpool & Manchester railway. Shaw also contributed to Bury's Coloured Views on the Liverpool and Manchester Railway, first published in the same year. Presented here with an additional hand-coloured strike of the first plate. Text section to first part clean; some foxing and browning to the wove paper mounts, including some damp-staining to margins of some, but the india proofs are mostly unscathed and remain clean; some marking to wrappers, first wrapper relaid; modern half morocco very good.
