Published in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Sherlock Holmes' birth, all three massive volumes are edited, with over 1000 annotations, by Leslie S. Klinger, who has also provided forewords and notes. With hundreds of period illustrations and cultural notes, this edition will delight enthusiasts of Sherlock Holmes, Victorian England, and Arthur Conan Doyle (the editor has included bios of Doyle, Holmes, and Watson) and is surpassed in its comprehensiveness only by the Oxford Sherlock Holmes, itself intended for scholars, and also edited by Klinger. With additional research by Janet Byrne and Patricia J. Chui. The books are in fine condition, unread, essentially as-new, and the dustjackets are very bright, crisp and unmarked, also virtually as-new.
