Item description from seller

1962. First edition. 192pp. and many black and white illustrations on twenty plates. Richard Bladworth Hawkey (1923-1991) was an English cricketer and an international squash player, representing England. He also wrote a number of coaching books on the subject of squash. A coaching chapter contains advice for the beginner as well as tactics for the more advanced player, and there are suggestions for methods of training and practice. In addition there are chapters on the technical side of the game, on refereeing and marking, as well as section on the attempt to develop the perfect Squash ball, the building of courts and the development of the game. The book is bound in the original brown cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine. The book is in excellent condition with light bumping to the spine ends and the contents are tight and clean with no inscription. The unclipped dustwrapper has shelf wear with light soiling and rubbing to the corners. The spine ends are lightly bumped and there is a tear of about 1/4" on the top rear spine corner. The wrapper is in an easily removed clear plastic protective cover.
