Item description from seller

In five Cantos; Being the narrative of a voyage out and home, from Liverpool to Buenos-Ayres, and Monte-Video, in the years 1825 and 1826. First edition. Frontispiece and two other full-page aquatints. 8vo. Hardcover in blue cloth, letterpress title piece on spine, spine faded, cloth a little worn but still nice and bright. viii, 119, [1]pp. London, Printed for the author and sold by Charles Frederick Cock, A handsome copy of this anonymous maritime poem, which borrows heavily from William Falconer's The Shipwreck, a fact the sailor-poet apologises for in the preface. One of the plates is an amusing depiction of sailor's "crossing the line". There is a second poem from pp.109-112 titles "The Exiled Convict" which was "composed on viewing a Convict Ship leaving the Land." Not in Sabin; not in Halkett and Lang.
