Quite scarce early work by Mary Russell Mitford, well regarded author of the Village Sketches.Two blanks at front and rear, possibly missing a half-title page. First signature of pages starting and hanging on by the binding threads. Leather splitting over joints but still soundly attached by cords and endpage hinges. Leather lightlscuffed and worn at corners; just slightly chipped at spine ends. Scarce. G++. Seller Inventory # 32571
