First UK Edition. Publisher's red-brown boards with gilt lettering to the spine. Fine book minor foxing to the top edge) in slightly spotted throughout (mostly white background design hence it shows) dustwrapper with a 2cm tear to the base of the front inner flap and minor rubbing to the tips. N.B: basis for the 1965 Hammer Studios film (the last Hammer film to be made in black and white) directed by Seth Holt and starring Bette Davis, Wendy Craig and Jill Bennett. At the time of listing there are no copies of this first edition for sale on the web in dustwrapper. Uncommon. Looks nicer than it sounds. Photographs/scans available upon request.
