Presents portraits made during the photographers' stay in Naples in 1986 and a return visit in 1996
Synopsis: This text tells the story of Nan Goldin's relationship with Naples and the people who have been important to her there. In 1986, along with friends like Cookie Mueller, she made portraits of the city and the friends she made during a stay. Ten years later, after the success of her mid-life retrospective, "I'll be Your Mirror", she went back, and was inspired to take new pictures - portraits of new friends, but also the city and the surrounding countryside. The story of these two visits, a decade apart, is told here in texts by Nan Goldin, Guido Costa and Cookie Mueller, alongside the old and new portraits, and studies of the architecture and landscapes.
