8vo. 418pp. Stated first printing. Bound in sturdy grey cloth boards, with grey topstain and pictorial map endpapers. VG/VG-. Topstain shows light fading, with a couple of faint moisture spots. Edges of textblock lightly tanned. Unclipped "$3.00" jacket shows uniform browning, with light general edgewear, several short closed teras, a 1" closed tear at top of front flap hinge, and rubbing with some surface loss to the front and spine panels. Presents quite nicely indeed. An engaging yet authoritative study of the diverse origins of American place names, by the author of the science fiction classic "Earth Abides." Shipping Terms:

All books ship free with tracking to domestic addresses via USPS Media Mail. In most cases, delivery takes place within a three to ten day window, although the vicissitudes of USPS may apply. Unless otherwise requested, expedited domestic purchases ship via USPS Priority Mail; overseas orders via USPS First Class International. Heavy or oversized books may incur additional shipping charges, as may books shipped to overseas destinations. Any additional charges required will be communicated promptly.
