About this Item
Stated First Edition. Bright green cloth, photo of East River waterfront in 1875 on end papers, no markings, slight toning to end papers, practically no toning to text. Near fine. DJ somewhat faded on spine, chip at bottom of spine, a tear at top of spine and some shelf wear at top and bottom all around. Unclipped. In 1872, the Mary Celeste was found abandoned 300 miles off the coast of Portugal. The ship was sound and canvas set but no one was aboard. There were no signs that anyone had planned to leave the ship. The author has furnished us with a fascinating reconstruction of this famous mystery and has perhaps come as close to solving this case as is possible. Seller Inventory # 000634
