About this Item
"Wanting in every way to adapt to the high moral climate that envelops the British Isles, the author has allowed certain excisions to be made in the American text." ThE author's proviso to the English edition is stated on the back of the Title page. A first edition 1st printing and nice crisp copy, firmly bound, with what looked like a very fine scratch on the back of the clean black unworn cloth boards but which on examination turned out to be a little fault in the binding. There are a few very faint spots due to dust damage to top page edges, the other edges being perfectly clean. No foxing. No inscriptions. Bright clean text. The dust jacket is a little worn to the edges and has a light scratch or two, a few tiny chips and little creases. Seller Inventory # 005695
