8vo 310pp. from front flap: "The title heroine of Peter DeVries' new novel is a fugitive from a couple of other novels. Emma Wallop feels she has been unjustly pilloried as a character in a best seller written by a former lodger in her rooming house. Her chance to settle the score comes when the now lionized author falls into her clutches on the occasion of his return to the old hometown in Middle America, intended as triumphal, but developing into a fine comic fiasco." #03050. Book VG: mild shelf wear/soil to boards and spine, text clean, binding tight. DJ G: clipped, chipping and small closed tears, age toning.
