Vertically oblong hardcover tall octavo, 9 11/16 inches tall by 6 inches wide, in near fine condition. Half white cloth with red and black printing and tangerine cloth boards. The dust jacket is very good with an intact price, though it has some edge wear and a couple of very short edge closed edge tears. Mrs. Manders was a renowned retired master chef who lived in the same town as Rumer Godden. She once came to Godden's house to help out, and became a friend and presided over her household kitchen. A brief autobiographical chapter by Mrs. Mandes, followed by over 150 recipes. xiv - 178 pp.
