1st edition. 288pp. Octavo. Brown cloth covered boards. Gilt lettering on spine. Corners and ends of spine slightly bumped and lightly worn. Pastedowns show a slight rippling. Light foxing to preliminaries and outer edges, only a small sprinking within the text block. In white dust jacket with colour illustration on front, not price clipped. Jacket shows some light wear and soiling (light liquid stain to top edge of back) as well as a few small closed tears near the edges. A very good book in jacket to match. very good 102 in Wells Society. "A satirical and allegorical work intended as a commentary on millitary and political stupidit." 115 word subtitle.
