About this Item
Uniquely cut book to the form of a doll; pictorial stapled wraps. As stated on inside flap: "120 different pictures may be made in this book. The dolls are having a jolly time, and you will too, when you turn these pages and see them changing heads, feet, and bodies with each other and putting on the costumes of other nationalities." As this is published in 1908, the depiction of certain nationalities are stereotyped of the time period and are quite insensitive by today's standards. Sections include: In the Nursery, Japanese, "Darkies," Holland Dolls, Just Dolls, Indians (Indigenous peoples of North America), Rope Skipping, Scandinavia, Chinese, Scotch Dolls, Rag Dolls, and Turkey. Interior contents separated from wraps. Wraps taped together at spine with document tape. Unpaginated. 6 1/4 x 11 inches. Seller Inventory # 6452
