The work is a comprehensive archaeological study of the ancient site of Motya, in Sicily. The ancient city of Motya, was a prosperous and important Phoenician settlement, dating from around the 8th century B.C. The book features numerous in text figures, maps, diagrams and photographic reproductions in b/w, detailing the history, geography and artifacts of the site and the surrounding area. Contains a detailed list of illustrations. A two page detailed map of the island settlement is included at the back, between the free endpapers. Binding with some light smudges, scratches and sunning to the covers and spine. Corners lightly bumped. Light rubbing along the edges and to the head of the spine along the back hinge. Interior with previous owner's bookplate and signature on the interior front cover and front free endpapers. Light foxing to the interior back cover.
