The first edition of these volumes by G. C. Robson on the twentieth century discoveries in the Cephalopod family, illustrated throughout. The first edition of these works. This work is a look at the contemporary recent discoveries in Cephalopods. The Cephalopod family contains squid, octopus, and nautilus. The work looks at the structure of the family, the phylogeny, measurements, and different variations within the family. Volume I with seven plates. Volume II with six plates. Illustrated with multiple in-text illustrations. Written by G. C. Robson. Robson started working at the British Museum of Natural History in 1913, working on mollusca, soon becoming an authority on the subject. He published many papers, mostly focussing on Cephalopoda. This 'Monograph' was generally considered to be his most important work. Insitutional labels to the front pastedowns and recto to the front endpaper, 'Presented by the trustees of the British Museum', and 'Brighton Public Library'. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Institutional samp to the tail of the spines.A couple of light marks to the boards. Institutional labels to the front pastedowns and to the recto to the front endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Bind stamp to the title page. Institutional ink inscriptions to the verso of the title page. Institutional stamps to the reverse of the plates. Very Good.
