Item description from seller

Translated from the original German by 'R.T.G.,' introduction by Sir Michael Sadler. Austrian artist and adventurer spent five years in Asia, during which he traversed Tibet and Mongolia by camel, on foot and occasionally in a motor vehicle, sketching and recording his observations of the people and places he encountered along the way. This volume records these observations and encounters, mostly from memory and in sensitive and skillful sketches. Endpapers a little browned, DJ spine darkened, DJ worn and chipped. Binding strong and internal pages all clean and unmarked. Overall a very good copy in good DJ. 347 pp., 22 b&w sketches. Size: 22 x 15 cm.
