Add to basketHardback first edition, first printing of Miracles: A Preliminary Study by C. S. Lewis. Classic early work of Christian apologetics in which Lewis explores the possibility and nature of miracles. Original green cloth covers in good condition, with some corner bumping but no major marks or stains; binding tight and square. Page edges show foxing and age-related spotting, as is common for books of this period, but internal pages generally clean with no markings, annotations or underlining. Original cream dust jacket, price unclipped (10s 6d net), complete with no major loss; minor chips and wear to top and bottom of spine, a tanned/browned spine, and general signs of age and handling around the edges. Please refer to the photos. This first edition contains the original text of chapter three; Lewis later revised this chapter in subsequent printings after criticism at the Socratic Club, and it preserves Lewis's original argument before his famous debate with philosopher G. E. M. Anscombe prompted substantial revision in the 1960 edition. Free postage within the U.K.
