First edition of this examination of religion under Hitler and the false justification for Nazi antisemitism. Like a Mighty Army attempt to break down the corrupt roots of religion in Hitler's Germany, tracing the growth of an insidious, anti-semitic Christianity as well as the incorporation of pagan mysticism and iconography. Shuster ultimately concludes that anti-semitism serves as a substitute for what would otherwise be anti-French sentiment born out of the events of the First World War and the desire for retribution. As of the book's publication in 1935, Shuster saw no hope for conventional Christianity/Catholicism in Germany, nor was he optimistic about the outcome of the Nazi project. In nearly all ways, Shuster was proven correct within the following decade. Owner stamp. Book fine, dust jacket with only light wear and toning to extremities. A near-fine copy. Seller Inventory # 89
