Undated text but presumed 1st edition. Inscription to ffep dated Christmas 1914. Boards chipped around all edges and corners and a little grubby. Cloth spine a little worn but holding firm, has a short split to top right hand edge and a little one to lower left hand edge. Binding firm. Front and back gutterings have been neatly, virtually invisibly, strengthened with tissue tape. There is some very light blotchy foxing to prelims and to a few early pages getting fainter and fainter and the remaining pages are clean. There are three little coloured pencil marks to back fep. One picture has chip to bottom right corner and a little creasing to the edge, has been tipped in, but the remainder of th4 illustrations are all bright and clean and lovely examples of Aldin's work. A loved but really nice copy. Increasingly rare in this condition. Seller Inventory # 005280
