Add to basketA scarce first edition of this work documenting the lives of some of the men living on the Isle of Skye in the early nineteenth century. First edition, in the publisher's original blue cloth binding. This scarce work by Roderick MacCowan documents the lives of Christian men who were raised up by God, during the early nineteenth century. MacCowan presents the lives of forty-nine residents of the Isle of Skye, in Scotland, including Norman MacLeod a former schoolmaster on the island. With poems included to the rear of the work, written by three of the Men of Skye, Malcolm Nicolson, Donald Macdonald and Donald MacInnes. With a public library stamp to the front paste down. In the publisher's original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart, with light rubbing to the boards and to the joints. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. A touch of fading to the spine. Light offsetting and the odd spot to endpapers. Library stamp to front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with the occasional spot, mainly to the first and last pages. Very Good.
