Half dark green cloth spine over lighter moss green cloth covered boards, separated by bright gilt ruling. Spine has raised bands. Paper title label is Fine with crisp dark green lettering on the lighter green label with perfect corners. Book is tight, square and totally free of all markings. Near Fine or better. Drawn from the diaries of Mrs. James T. Fields and contains chapters on many important people of the day, including Louis Agassiz, Charles Dickets, Longfellow, Henry James, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Juila Ward Howe, Mark Twain, Oliver Wendell Holmes, etc. etc. Illustrated with photos, drawings and facsimiles.
