A very scarce first edition of this genealogical and biographical work on the Wesley family, with a folding family tree. First edition. Very scarce. With a frontispiece and a large folding family tree or genealogical table. Collated complete. A detailed historical and biographical record of the Wesley Family, with an important memorial of John Wesley, an English cleric, theologian, and evangelist who was a leader of a revival movement within the Church of England known as Methodism. Written by George John Stevenson, an English bookseller, editor, headmaster, author, historian and hymnologist. Dated from the British Library. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with the odd mark to the boards. Hinges tender. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot or handling mark. Minor age toning to the endpapers. Small closed tears and one 3" closed tear to the folding table. Good.
