(Richard Passmore) Additional material by Jo and Nigel Pimlott" [Back Cover] "Crime is rising, particularly street crime, and many older people live in fear of younger people. Drug use and abuse is on the increase and the consequences of teenage alcohol problems can be witnessed in many communities. At the same time, the church has lost vast numbers of young people from its membership and urgently needs to rediscover its love for the young people in our communities . One of the challenges of following Jesus today is how to effectively bring about change in the lives of young people and our communities. Detached youth work is one way to do this. Richard Passmore, a Youth Work Development Adviser at Frontier Youth Trust and Assistant Course Director for the Centre for Youth Ministry at Bristol, introduces this broad subject. He provides a fresh approach to effectively plan and deliver detached youth work and gives a framework to measure and communicate this work to possible supporters".…
