First Edition, hardcover. 380 pages. Very good or better, wee bit of bumping on lower/outer corners of covers, minor foxing (spotting) on endpaper, in a good plus dust jacket (in fresh mylar protector) with a little chipping atop the spine and some additional edgewear including a few small closed tears; overall a surprisingly tight, clean copy. Jacket price is clipped at the bottom of the front inner flap (like all first edition copies I believe) but $2.75 price is present on the rear inner flap. Very scarce/correct first edition with matching 1940 dates on title & copyright pages, red horizontal lines on the title page and Kingsport Press at bottom of copyright page (NOT Haddon Craftsmen which would signify a book club edition, also book club editions have black horizontal lines on the title page). An important work, famous for coining the words googel (hence Google) and googolplex (hence Googleplex).
