Heye, an electrical engineer who began his career as a bridge-builder, meeting his first Indian, a Navajo laborer, while building a railroad bridge in Kingman, Arizona in 1896. Heye -- the son of Standard Oil millionaire Frederick Gustav Heye -- bought from the man his first acquisition, a buckskin shirt. He didn't stop there. 63 pp. including bibliography, illustrated with B&W photographs reproduced on matte stock. Reduced from $22.
