THE MASTER OF WARLOCK BY GEORGE CARY EGGLESTON 1903 1ST VG. I am pleased to be able to offer this story of romance and social struggle in Virginia at the onset of the Civil War. This small hard cover book (5 ½ x 7 ¾ inches, 533 pages plus 2 pages of publisher?s adverts) was published by the Lothrop Publishing Company of Boston, dated 1903 and I believe this is the First Printing of the First Edition. It was illustrated by C.D. Williams, with a rose colored frontispiece and 5 other similar plates (all present and accounted for). What prompted me to offer this book is its attractive design and very clean and bright interior. Condition: This book is in very good condition. There has been some rubbing to the hard covers and light bumping to its corners and spine tips. Inside, a former owner has stamped his name on the front endpaper but that is the only mark I found in the book. The interior pages and plates are all bright and clean throughout, without toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight, sound and square although perhaps a bit canted to the right. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
