Three volumes, large octavo, in sixes iv, 306; vi, 306; vi, 426 pp. Two frontispieces, 130 woodcuts, and twenty-five initials by Browne; one frontispiece and thirty-eight woodcuts by Cattermole; one woodcut each by S. Williams and Maclise. Half contemporary calf over marbled boards. Gilt spines with black morocco labels. Binding extremities rubbed, feet of spines lightly worn. Old armorial bookplate on back pastedowns, small rubberstamps of a later owner in two volumes. A very good, attractive set. First edition. Our office is located in Los Angeles on West Third Street, between the Beverly Center and Farmer's Market. Though we gave up an open shop after more than thirty years, we welcome serious customers and dealers. We are normally open from 10 to 6 Monday through Saturday. Since some of our less expensive books are located in a temperature-controlled storage area offsite, you may want to call ahead of time to insure that the book you want to see will be available.
