Rubbing (commonly visible on dark-colored dustjackets), elsewise a bright, clean, tight copy sans flecks, tears, stains, markings, and discoloration. "Maps and Mapmakers of the Civil War" is by far the largest, most comprehensive, most beautifully illustrated selection of Civil War maps ever published. Ranging from exquisitely detailed color renderings to rough pencil sketches drawn from horseback, these maps - many never before published - are not only invaluable historical artifacts but also genuine works of art. The 150 full-color reproductions, gathered from collections both obscure and famous throughout the country, reveal the delicate tinting, meticulous lettering, color penciling, and watercolor effects that make them cartographic masterpieces." 272 pages. NOTE: Due to the large size and weight of the book additional shipping cost will be requested/required for OUT-OF-U.S. shipment in accordance with country of destination. GF2.
