Add to basketMANUAL FOR THE USE OF THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK 1882. Pleased to offer a lovely copy in red soft leather of the Manual of the New York State Legislature for the Year 1882 . This small leather-bound hardcover book (4 ½ x 6 ½ inches, 594 pages) was published by Weed Parsons and Company Printers of Albany dated 1882 and it was prepared pursuant to a Resolution of the Senate and Assembly of 1865 by Joseph B. Carr Secretary of State. The red leather covers have embossed gilt titles and names on cover and spine. The book has a Frontispiece engraving of the North View of the Capitol at Albany NY and two folded seating charts for the Senate and the Assembly. There is so much information in this book that it defies description. Please see the photos of the Contents for your further information about the many things offered in this book. Coincidently, the list of Assemblymen includes Theodore Roosevelt representing the 21st Legislative District which was part of New York City. Condition: The book is in very good condition. The leather covered boards are still soft and supple but show some edge wear and bumping to the corners and spine tips. Inside the book is unmarked and the interior pages are generally clean and bright with some minor smudges of soiling but without notable toning or foxing. There are small tears where the two seating charts attach to the front endpapers. There is a chip off the upper corner of the last page. This book is not ex-library nor a remainder.
