Item description from seller

8vo. Pp. l; 409, followed by seven pages of previous titles in the series. Illustrated with four plates reprinting pamphlet title pages. Index. Full blue buckram with gilt medallion stamped on front cover. gilt lettering stamped on spine. A solid copy with no detracting qualities. A volume in the vital series published by the Navy Records Society, providing insight to specific periods of maritime history, and proving great value to researchers and writers. Notably, Patrick O'Brian has proclaimed his debt to the series for imparting verisimilitude to his Jack Aubrey - Stephen Maturin novels. A handsome, presentable copy. The editor was Professor of Modern History at the University of Southampton.
