"During World War II, a top-secret mission was undertaken to develop the atomic bomb. It subsequently came to be known as the Manhattan Project. This small book, an anthology, introduces it. Most of the selections that follow are firsthand accounts. The mission culminated in the summer of 1945 when America successfully tested one atomic device and, soon thereafter, dropped two atomic bombs as acts of war".(excerpt) Book is in good condition. Pages are bright and clean with no interior markings. Slight lean to spine with no creasing. A great little anthology for those not familiar with the history of the atomic bomb.
