Item description from seller

ix, 332 pgs. Wonderfully illustrated with Frontispiece & over thirty b&w full-page plates. Translated from the French by Gertrude Emerson. Author Dorgeles describes the magic of Indo-China, the land of the Mandarin Road . . . its ancient traits & primitive jungles to its beginnings to modernize. Charming incorporation of old myths and history & yesteryears with rapidly, fast-changing industrization processes of early 20th century. Green d.j. (enclosed in Brodart mylar protective covering) has minor chips & wear & slight sunning/fading to spin but still affords good protection to bright, attractive orange boards which are gilt decorated. Like-new previous owner gift plate on ffep. Book is very clean & very good, near new cond. Size: 5 1/2: x 8".

Store description

Internet and mail order; the inventory is largely catholic in scope in that there are items in many fields and disciplines; much of the stock, especially that of older or earlier copyrighted material, is from items which have been in the family for several generations. With the passage of time, and family members, these collections have, somewhat, gravitated together and are offered for sale, via ABE; we continue to acquire additional items of interest, from time to time, as they turn up.
