For courses in Preschool/Child Care Center Administration.
Designed to prepare students to manage high-quality early childhood programs that enhance the development of young children, this text provides comprehensive treatment of the special mix of child development and childcare management principles, skills, knowledge, and attitudes that will ensure success. Contemporary in perspective, it addresses all principles and skills that early childhood program managers need to provide services that are culturally responsive, inclusive, and sensitive to a variety of family needs. Center accreditation is highlighted throughout as is parental involvement in each child's education and care.

From the Back Cover
Management of Child Development Centers is the core text that students of child development center administration need to help them learn to manage effectively in the twenty-first century. It is the only text structured around the thirteen competencies that capable, confident child development center directors must possess. This practical text by Professor Patricia F. Hearron, a former child development center manager, and well-known author and Professor Emerita Verna Hildebrand, focuses on targeted problem-solving strategies, decision making, and specific tools. A classic in the field since 1984, the sixth edition of Management of Child Development Centers has been updated and expanded to emphasize strategies and solutions to the challenges facing today’s child development center managers.
