A nice 169 page first edition (stated) 1937 hardcover. Has some foxing on edges. Pages are nice and binding solid. Dust jacket has some edge wear and looks nice. Over all a very nice book. A labor novel about a young man and his lust for life and women, and the consequences as he grows older. One of the five novelettes chosen from 1340 for publication in a contest. Joe Murry expected the world to be hard. Young as he was, he was hard too, hard enough so that whatever the world threw at him bounced off. He liked new places, new jobs, new girls. He had what it takes to get a job and get a girl. And then the boy grew older, to learn that it is not only bumps that gets from the world. sometimes there comes a thrust that cuts through the hardness. Size: 7 1/2 h x 5w.
