This book contains six essays by prominent historians and others detailing the importance of men of recent and current history. F J C Hearnshaw writes on King Edward VII, R H Bruce Lockhart on Lenin, R B Mowat on Aristide Briand, Eric J Patterson on Josef Pilsudski, Sir Charles Petrie on Mussolini, and E W D Tennant on Hitler (here with his christian name spelt as Adolph). Tennant had been a banker in the years before the Second World War who had worked towards closer ties between Germany and Britain. Condition: A good copy. There is some darkening and rubbing to the red cloth, light tanning to the prelims but the main body of text is in good order.
