First UK Edition. VARIANT WITH WHITE END-PAPERS. First Edition. This is the very rare variant with white end-papers that were used by the printers when the green and white patterned end-papers ran out (Gilbert 2012). One of just 3,024 copies of this issue, bound with plain end-papers. The book is a solid near fine example with a bump to the bottom right hand corner of the front board. There is a hint of spotting to the top edge. Head and tale of spine very slightly pushed (but hardly worth mentioning). In the original un-clipped VG+ D/W with the price of 18s net to the front flap. A bright example, with some miniscule rubbing and the slightest of surface loss to the spine tips. One small tear at foot of joint to front flap. A hint of toning to spine, with some light spotting.
