Illustrated map endpapers show the villages within the 500 square miles of India that were terrorized by one man-eating leopard over an eight year span between 1918-1926. This is the famous story written by legendary hunter, Jim Corbett, who ultimately hunted the leopard down. Brown cloth panels show light soiling with a touch of shelf-rubbing at tips. Rare DJ shows chipping along edges with soiling on rear at shoulder. DJ flap price-clipped with an old penciled price lightly written in. A sturdy copy of the first printing in its original, elusive DJ; VG- flaws noted.
