Scarce First edition, yellow hardcover (1954) Oxford Press in arrangement with English Readers Library, illustrated by Raymond Sheppard. Snarling tiger head in silver on the front, silver title on the spine, no dust jacket. An ex private library copy, stamped name on front and back end papers, the contents page anda couple more inside, as well as a handwritten library number on the title page, & the end papers. A small book seller stamp on the front ep. The book is generally clean showing signs of use, binding is stained with two neat black squires ( please see the images). A good copy of this uncommon Corbett title featuring abridged versions of Man eating Leopard and the Thak Man eater. 162 pages including glossary. An ideal addition to serious Corbett collectors, not only it being scarce, but also it was published when Corbett was still alive and living at the Outspan Hotel in Nyeri, Kenya.
