New in Folio Society shrink wrap as received directly from the publisher. First image is of this actual set, others are stock images. The second Folio Society 'Maigret' collection brings together three of Georges Simenon's most engrossing detective novels. In 'Maigret in Society', 'Maigret Sets a Trap' and 'Maigret’s Mistake', we see the detective wrestle with the upper echelons of the French aristocracy, attempt to foil a crazed murderer on the streets of Paris, and investigate the pervasive influence of a charismatic brain surgeon. Full of the psychological astuteness and elegant writing that made Simenon enormously popular among his fellow writers as well as with readers, these three volumes feature stylish woodcut illustrations by Folio favourite, Harry Brockway. Each volume is bound in full cloth, printed in black, and blocked in silver or gold with a classic image of the detective, showing his pipe and heavy overcoat, and his head bent in thought. Each volume includes five of Brockway's b/w illustrations (one full-page and four half-page). 8¾'' x 5½''. All are housed in a three-volume slipcase, covered in dark grey cloth and titled in silver. Printed and bound in China. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. ORDERS professionally packed, tracked and/or signed for, and insured. U.S. BUYERS: Books remain exempt from import duty under U.S. law.
