Collection of 16 ethnographic essays on magical beliefs & behaviors, including those related to witchcraft, divination, curing & healing, & sorcery. In 346 pages with Index & Bibliography in rear, some illustrations. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1967, this hardcover has brown cloth over quarter black cloth-covered boards, lettered in gilt to spine. Condition is Near Fine: exceptionally clean & bright, binding strong & straight, pages creamy white with very mild tanning to edges, but completely unmarked. Exterior shows very mild rubbing to extremities & corner bumping. The unclipped DJ (with orig. $8.95 price intact to front flap) is VG+: clean with slight chipping to both head & heel of spine; nicely covered in nonreflective mylar cover by previous owner.
