An anthology of classic poems by many celebrated names such as Kipling, de la Mare, Stevenson etc., appearing as handwritten text in various styles. Every page is multicoloured with the poems written over images illustrating the subject. 45 poems grouped in sections by subject, unpaginated. Title page with highly decorative coloured designs, also the pages between sections are colourfully embellished. In decorative printed boards in d.w which repeats the cover design. The text is in excellent condition without any blemishes, pencilled ownership name written by a child on front endpaper, minimal corner wear but bottom of spine is worn and slightly torn, d.w. has a small portion missing from top of lower cover, edges a bit worn and small piece missing at bottom of spine, neatly price-clipped, with some minor coloring by a child on front of d.w. Overall, a thoroughly good copy of this charming book which because of the classic nature of the contributors shouldl not date. Size: Sm. 4to.
