Presented in a perspex folder with a metal clamp holding the pages together at the spine. Quarto. (74) pp. Illustrated gloss wrappers, with a light crease on the front. Contains appreciations of the poet by John McEwan, Eduardo Lourenço, and Luis Amorim de Sousa, plus reproduction of many sketches, art works in gouache and watercolour, photographs, and other odd jottings and doodles. A Fine copy of this scarce work. Alberto de Lacerda was born in Mozambique in 1928, before moving to Lisbon in 1946. Five years later he joined the BBC as a radio presenter and settled in London. He travelled in Brazil between 1959 and 1960 at the invitation of the Brazilian Modernist Manuel Bandeira before returning to London as a freelance journalist and broadcaster. He taught European and Comparative literature at the Universities of Austin and Boston from where he retired in 1996 as a Professor Emeritus of Poetics. He published in Portugal, Britain and the USA and contributed to many literary publications in various countries. He died in London in 1987 aged 78. Seller Inventory # 7558
