This biography tells the story of two extraordinary soldiers--Bernard Montgomery a general for the British and Erwin Rommel a general for the Germans. The two men followed a remarkably similar path--both fought in the First World War where they both nearly died; they both taught in staff colleges, wrote infantry textbooks and fought each other as divisional commanders in 1940 in the war between the Allies and the Nazis. The book contains photographs, illustrations, maps, notes, bibliography, chronology, and an index. This HARDCOVER copy is clean and solid.
