Item description from seller

Square 4to. white softcover with blind embossed design of an overhead view on the front cover. (31) pages. The McFetridge Plan, Plan for 24 Hour Urban Living, First edition. Spine age darkened. Some foxing along top edge of the covers and preliminary pages. Corners lightly bumped. Else a fine copy. Original prospectus for the groundbreaking Chicago urban redevelopment project designed by Bernard Goldberg and built in the 1960s. This modernist monument to high mid-century style included not only 900 residential units but commercial amenities, creating a microcosm of the urban landscape. Curved hallways, pie-shaped rental units (now condominiums) and distinctly modern design attracted residents to the development. Includes street plans, floor plans, photos of amenities, a planning guide in a pocket in the rear cover, many details about the planned development. Added note: scenes from the motion picture Candyman were recently filmed in Marina City, including a unit that has retained many of its original 1960s features. white softcover with blind embossed design of an overhead view on the front cover.
