Chatto &Windus, London 1894. First Edition. Book condition Good. Text block tight and undamaged. Deckled edges to face. Paper torn at hinges to back and front, but binding still firm, though looser at back. Small bookseller's sticker at back. Inscription on inner front cover ' Mrs C D Evans. Cathy with love from Hugh Xmas '96 '. Red board covers. Illustration (part of b/w frontispiece) to front with gilt titles. Assegai and gilt titles to spine. Wear round the edges and to edges of spine. Spine worn at top and bottom, but untorn. A rare first edition of a recently reissued book on late c19th adventuring in Southern Africa.
