Pp. 122 including frontispiece and 8 pages of advertisements (dated May 22, 1862, mostly for train or steamboat travel,) in the pagination, folding map (9 1/2 x 5 inches, creased, soiling along outer edge, trimming of lower margin affecting imprint). 1 vols. Sm. 8vo. RARE. Contains G. T. Cary's "County Seats on the Shores of the St. Lawrence Round Quebec" and Sir James McPherson LeMoine's "the Legendary Lore of the St. Lawrence." Sir James MacPherson LeMoine (1825-1912) noted Canadian author, published several works on Quebec and the lower St. Lawrence. He is best known for his publication "Maple Leaves" a series of miscellanies published from 1863-1906. The Cary family founded the Quebec "Mercury" in 1805 and it remained in the family for three generations. Not in Lande Original rose cloth, stamped in blind with all-over wavy pattern, covers with ruled borders, floral cornerpieces, inset cloth label in upper cover with title within gilt ruled border. Some chipping of lower spine, darkening or light discoloration, a few stains on cloth, endpapers browned, else a very good copy with the signature of T. W.
