15th, 13th, and 11th printings of the first US editions, published by Houghton Mifflin 1965-1966. Books in good overall condition, in less than good jackets. The set is made from separate books, rather than together from new, but they fit well together. The Fellowship of The Ring 15th printing - Dust jacket has tears and loss to the spine and flap edges, the front flap is torn the majority of the way along at the fore edge, there is also a tear running down and across the spine, all held securely together by the paper backed tidy protective wrapper. Jacket unclipped, original price $5.95. Blue cloth covers, spine a little tanned, a slight lean, gilt lettering to the spine and front, securely bound, though with a feeling of having been read several times. Front pastedown has a previous owners bookplate, pages otherwise clean and free from inscriptions, a little age toned, complete with fold out map at the back. Good book, poor jacket. The Two Towers - 13th printing. Jacket unclipped, original price $5.95, with wear and surface chipping, a couple of closed tears, plus chipping and small losses to the edges, spine a little faded, jacket is in a clear removable protective wrapper. Blue cloth covers are tidy, some bruising to the spine ends and a small bit of wear to the spine. Securely bound, previous owners bookplate to the free endpaper, pages bright and clean, no inscriptions, complete with fold out map at the back. Good book, fair to good minus jacket. The Return of the King - 11th printing. Jacket has been price clipped, with small losses to the spine ends, plus fading and a few marks to the jacket which is in a removable protective wrapper. Blue cloth covers with a little fading and some small marks, plus some marks to the top edge which sink a millimetre or twos into the top of the pages in places, though very faintly.
